Kevin D. Gerig, MD, FACS

General Surgeon

Dr. Kevin Gerig is a board-certified surgeon who is dedicated to offering his patients the highest quality and level of care, while keeping them informed about the procedures he uses. Dr. Gerig has received advanced training in general and vascular surgery, allowing him to perform a wide range of surgical procedures. As a general surgeon, Dr. Gerig is uniquely qualified to diagnose problems and recommend the most appropriate therapy, which may or may not include surgery. Instead, he may prescribe preventive steps to help patients maintain a healthy, active lifestyle without surgical intervention. If surgery is needed, Dr. Gerig incorporates the most advanced techniques and approaches available, specializing in endoscopy of the colon and upper gastrointestinal tract.

Dr. Gerig received his Bachelor of Arts from Goshen College in Goshen, Ind., and his Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Following graduation, he completed his internship and residency at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. He then joined Gerig Surgical Associates, P.C., which serves Indiana University Health Goshen and specializes in minimally invasive surgery of the chest, abdomen, pelvis, vascular system and endocrine system, as well as wounds. A member of several professional organizations and with nearly two decades of experience, Dr. Gerig consistently seeks out the latest surgical advancements to provide his patients with the most informed medical care possible.
